Wedding Cake Designs

Blame it on Hollywood and the advent of the “Romantic Comedy” movie genre
that usually ends in a gorgeous wedding, but the trend of lavish,
extravagant, stylish wedding ceremonies is here, and it’s not going anywhere
anytime soon. Every couple wants a wedding that they (and their guests) will
remember for years and years. While a lot of that has to do with the food,
venue, decorations, music, etc., the wedding cake has a small, but
significant part to play in making your wedding truly memorable.

In most wedding receptions, the cake assumes the center place, sitting
proudly as all guests look at it with greedy eyes. The wedding cake design
that you choose, therefore, has to be stylish enough to warrant such greed.
After all, what good is a lavish wedding with a poorly made wedding cake?

You don’t have to follow the conventional norm of the three tiered wedding
cake with figurines of the bride and groom sitting on top. With modern cake
making and decoration methods, you can go as wild as you want to with your
cake design. You can choose the traditional flowers and vines intertwined
together, or go minimalistic with geometric shapes, or go completely radical
with human or animal figurines. Your imagination, and your cake maker’s skill
are the only two things that can limit you.

You can use your favorite flower in the wedding cake design, or make the cake
in the color of your wedding dress, or you can even get the cake designed as
per the season of your wedding – bright and effervescent for the summer,
austere and demure for autumns, and cool and icy for winters. Consult your
cake maker and pick out a design that best reflects you as a couple, and
complements your wedding decorations.
